| "In mercy and truth atonement is provided for iniquity; and by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil." - Proverbs 16:6
"Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption." - Hebrews 9:12
In the OT times, the high priest entered the Most Holy of the tabernacle and sprinkled blood of a bull to atone for the sins of the people. This was a temporary atonement and symbolized the permanent atonement that God Himself would provide. Jesus Christ provided the permanent atonement for the sins of humankind. Those who believe in the Son will receive atonement from all their sins. It was God's mercy and truth that provided the permanent atonement for us.
