I don't normally pick out news to do with the paranormal, I don't believe its spiritually profitable to dwell on that kind of stuff, but I thought I'd comment on this news seeing it comes from such a high-ranking politician and does have a prophetical significance. Nick Pope was the chief of staff for the Ministry of Defence and was involved in a secretive UFO investigation programme run by the British government that has since been shut down. He has investigated several UFO encounters, and continues this work on a personal level. He believes UK airspace has been compromised on several occasions, but the UK is not willing to pursue the perpetrators. Nick Pope warns that the UK is wide open for attack, should one of these encounters happen to have sinister intentions.

Quote: "Mr Pope decided to speak out about his worries after resigning from his post at the Directorate of Defence Security at the MoD this week. "The consequences of getting this one wrong could be huge," he said. "If you reported a UFO sighting now, I am absolutely sure that you would just get back a standard letter telling you not to worry. ''Frankly we are wide open - if something does not behave like a conventional aircraft now, it will be ignored. "The X-Files have been closed down." If these words had come from a sci-fi fanatic, they could be easily dismissed by cynics. But Mr Pope's CV - he was head of the UFO project between 1991 and 1994 - cannot be ignored. When he began his job, he too was sceptical about UFOs but access to classified files on the subject and investigation of a series of spectacular UFO sightings gradually changed his mind.

I'm not generally a conspiratorial type, but I do believe some of these incidents may be foreign government experiments. I have heard that the US airforce were using UK bases to test secret aircraft, and such an experiment may have been the cause of the incident at the Mull of Kintyre in 1994, in which an RAF Chinook helicopter full of security personnel crashed into a remote hillside killing everyone onboard. The UK government charged the dead pilots with negligence despite no evidence to prove this, an act which is virtually unheard of in the history of the UK airforce.

There is also a spiritual side to UFOs. The Bible doesn't mention life on other planets, but there is life in outer space. Satan is called the "prince of the power of the air" in Ephesians 2:2, and Revelation 12 mentions a war in heaven, during which hundreds of millions of demons will be cast out of space down to earth, in the middle of the seven year tribulation period. The Bible states that after the rapture, those people who had heard the gospel during their life time but rejected it, will get no second chance to believe. After the rapture occurs and millions of Christians "disappear", the entire world will be struggling to try and understand what has happened. But Satan will offer the world a lie which God will cause the unbelievers to accept. What that lie will be I'm not sure, but many think a link with UFOs is a possibility.

2nd Thessalonians 2:11-12
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
