"And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, 'Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?' which is translated, 'My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?' " - Mark 15:34 "...Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours be done." - Luke 22:42 Jesus' passion and agony in the garden of Gethsemane was unbearable. He knew He would be separated from the Father when the sin of the world would be placed upon Him on the cross. He became the sin bearer of the world and the wrath of God fell upon His Son, which is something unthinkable and unfathomable. Jesus willingly took the cross because this is the perfect will of God for His Son and for all those who believe in His Son. God forsook His Son while on the cross so the world through the blood of His Son would be redeemed. Praise the Lord!
