"Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love." - Revelation 2:4
When we fail in our faithfulness to the Lord, our love for the Lord can become cold or lukewarm. We see Peter denied Jesus three times and he had the guilt in him that made him drift further away and go back to his original business. Thankfully, Christ restored Peter when He appeared to Peter after His resurrection. By asking the question Jesus made Peter think about his love for his Lord. The church of Ephesus also lost their first love and Christ in His letter that John wrote to the church of Ephesus, reminded them of their first love. Where are we with our faithfulness and commitment to Christ? Does it need to be renewed and restored. Pray about it.
