"When He rose up from prayer, and had come to His disciples, He found them sleeping from sorrow. Then He said to them, "Why do you sleep? Rise and pray, lest you enter into temptation." - Luke 22:45-46 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." - 1 Peter 5:8 We are the weakest when we are asleep. The enemy has an advantage and can clearly attack us. This is very much true in the spiritual realm. When we are not praying and meditating in the word of God, we are weak and Satan has clear advantage to devour us. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12) The enemy we deal with in the spiritual world is very powerful and we cannot stand him by our own strength. But when we have the Lord with us, who can be against us? We can be closer to the Lord only when we pray and immerse ourselves in His word. Read the Bible everyday. Praise the Lord!
