700 Club host Pat Robertson is predicting that 2007 will see a massive terror attack on the United States, possibly near the end of the year. Robertson said he believes the Lord told him this during a prayer retreat, and that the lives of millions of people could be affected.

Quote: ""I'm not necessarily saying it's going to be nuclear," he said during his news-and-talk television show "The 700 Club" on the Christian Broadcasting Network. "The Lord didn't say nuclear. But I do believe it will be something like that." Robertson said God told him during a recent prayer retreat that major cities and possibly millions of people will be affected by the attack, which should take place sometime after September.

With Pat's prominent position in the public eye, discretion is needed when making such statements. Pat Robertson has caused controversy in the past when he suggested the US should consider assassinating Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. I enjoy watching the 700 Club, and I do agree with Pat's assertion that former Israel Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke may be God's judgement for dividing His land. But we need to be careful when it comes to prophecy, and saying "God told me this".

There have been times when the Lord has told me specific things regarding people's lives, specifically my uncle in relation to his job. I know what that's like, you get a feeling that something is completely beyond certainty. When it comes to this website, it's different. I read the news and get a feeling for what way things are going. I then compare it with what the Bible teaches, and make "predictions" based on that information. I don't prophesy, and I'm not a prophet. Sometimes I have said things before they happen, but its not because I have foreknowledge of an event. To state explicitly "thus saith the Lord", you need to be pretty sure you are hearing from God, for the Bible states that the person that prophesies in God's name and what he or she says doesn't come to pass, that person is a false prophet.

Deuteronomy 18:20
But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.

That brings us to the European Neighbourhood Policy. A few people have asked me if I have heard any news of this being confirmed on January 1st, 2007. I haven't heard anything, and it is very strange that it wasn't mentioned on any news sites, considering how much fuss Javier Solana has been making out of it. I haven't said that the European Neighbourhood Policy definitely is the seven year covenant of Daniel or not, I do not know. There may be another seven year covenant that could come along, or perhaps the European Neighbourhood Policy wasn't ratified as expected. In any case there is a European Summit coming up this month, and European nations are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome in March. All we can do is wait and see what happens.
