"These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me teaching as doctrines the commandments of men." - Matthew 15:8, 9 "Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us!' But he answered and said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you." - Matthew 25:11, 12 Many deceive themselves, imagining they are serving the Lord, while deep within they know they are serving only themselves. The greatest tragedy will be for those who claim to be Christians or people of God, yet in that final day the Lord will say to them, “I do not know you.” In the days of our Lord, the Pharisees and Sadducees believed they were righteous and favored by God because they knew the law. Yet their worship was empty, for their hearts were never surrendered to Him. They honored God with their lips, but their hearts were far from Him. Our Lord desires our heart—our love, our devotion, our worship. We may not be perfect in this, but we must continue to trust, obey, and remain faithful. Let us make certain that we have given our whole heart to the Lord Jesus, and when we worship Him, we worship in spirit and in truth, as He commands. Praise the Lord!
