"... You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself." - Luke 10:27
When God calls us to believe in His Son and receive the free gift of salvation, it is never a decision to be taken lightly. The Lord desires that we love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, nothing less is worthy of His name. Yet we all fall short of this holy command.
But in His mercy, after we have believed, the Holy Spirit begins His sanctifying work within us. He teaches us to love the Lord more deeply, to follow Him more faithfully, and to grow in wholehearted devotion. Anyone who desires to follow Christ must do so with an undivided heart, for our Lord Jesus Christ seeks a personal relationship with each one of us.
The road that leads to heaven is narrow, but it is the path of life, joy, and peace. It is far better than the broad road that leads to destruction. Let us therefore walk the narrow way with steadfast love for the One who saved us.
