| "Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong, because He poured out His soul unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors." - Isaiah 53:12
"So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, 'It is finished!' And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit." - John 19:30
When all had been accomplished, and every prophecy concerning the Lord’s provision for the salvation of His people had been fulfilled, our Lord willingly gave up His spirit. Yet before He yielded His life, He declared, “It is finished.” With those words He placed a divine period at the end of the sentence, signifying that the work of redemption had been fully completed. He paid the price for the sin of the world, and all who look to Him for mercy, trusting in His finished work, will receive the gift of eternal life. He bore the sin of many, and even now He intercedes for us before the Father.
Praise and thanks be to God for Good Friday, the day our salvation was secured through the sacrifice of the Lamb of God.
Praise the Lord!
