"And Abraham called the name of the place, The-LORD-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, 'In the Mount of the LORD it shall be provided.' " - Genesis 22:14 "The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, 'Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" - John 1:29 When sin entered the world in the garden of Eden, humanity became separated from God because of the sinful nature. God is holy, and He cannot, and will not, allow sin in His holy presence. The only way for man to be reconciled to God and restored to fellowship with Him was through a perfect sacrifice, one that only God Himself could provide. When Abraham was tested with the offering of Isaac, the Lord spared Isaac, yet Abraham understood that God would one day provide the true and final sacrifice. In the fullness of time, Jesus Christ our Lord, God in the flesh, came into the world to meet the holy requirements of God and to satisfy His righteous wrath by offering Himself. He became the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Through the finished work of Christ, man is now reconciled to God. All who believe in Him and freely receive the gift of salvation will dwell in the presence of God forever. Praise the Lord!
