| "The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined." - Isaiah 9:2
"Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying. 'I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." - John 8:12
In one of the "I AM" claims of Jesus, our Lord said He is light of the world. We know how important light is to our lives. Imagine a world which has absolutely no source of light. Life cannot survive in a world without light. In the spiritual sense, a person will die without Jesus Christ. He is the source of spiritual light just as He created all physical light through which we can see. Jesus same so the people who walked in darkness can see His light and repent and turn to Him to seek life. Our Lord said those who follow Him will not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.
