"Or those eighteen on whom the tower of Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwell in Jerusalem? I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish." - Luke 13:4,5 "Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away." - James 4:14 We hear about a tragedy or a freak accident that takes the life of innocent people, and we cannot but think of how it could have been avoided or who is the culprit. These are natural thoughts and conversations that occur. The Bible teaches us that it is appointed unto man once to die, and after this the judgment. Everyone has been given one life on earth, and when God wills, He separates our soul from our body, which we call death. The greater question is, where will one spend eternity? Death on earth will come to every individual, and it cannot be avoided. So is eternity. Everyone will face the question, "where will you spend eternity?" Without Jesus Christ eternity will be spent in eternal separation from God in a place called Hell. But Christ died for us so that we may spend eternity in the presence of God. Unless we repent, we will likewise perish. Receive Christ and by doing so receive eternal life in His presence. Praise the Lord!
