"If you [Cain] do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it." - Genesis 4:7 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. - 1 Peter 5:8,9 Since the fall of man in the garden of Eden, man is captive to sin, and since then sin abounded resulting in man slipping deeper and deeper in sin's captivity. Our adversary, the devil, is walking about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. He has many agents from the demonic force which he uses to hold people captive in evil habits and addictions. But praise be to God who conquered sin and death through Jesus Christ our Lord. Where sin abounded, grace abounded much more. With the strength and power of Jesus Christ our Lord, let us resist the devil by being steadfast in our faith in the Lord. Serve Him, trust Him, and above all, love Him. Praise the Lord!
