| "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed." - Isaiah 53:5
"And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice saying, 'Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?' that is, 'My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?' " - Matthew 27:46
A great exchange of sin and righteousness happened on the cross of calvary. Jesus Christ our Lord was bruised and wounded for our sins. While nailed to the cross, the sin of the world was laid upon the Savior, and Jesus was forsaken by the Father. Jesus cried out to the Father when the Father turned His face away from His Son while He bore the sins of all people. All those who believe in Jesus receive His holy righteousness and this is that great exchange.
Jesus was victorious over sin and death when the Father raised Him up the third day. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.
Praise the Lord!
