"...Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours be done." - Luke 22:42 "So Jesus said to Peter, 'Put your sword into the sheath. Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me." - John 18:11 Throughout the old testament scripture we see the promise of the coming Messiah who would come to save and restore the world, and He would die a cruel death for the sin of the world. Jesus Christ fulfilled all the prophecies told about Him in the holy scriptures, and His sole purpose during His first coming was to seek and save the lost. His Soul was exceedingly sorrowful in the garden of Gethsemane and His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Peter tried to use force to stop the arrest of Jesus, but Jesus knew He would face the wrath of men and God the Father, and like a sheep to the slaughter He yielded to the force of wicked men. Our Lord suffered and died in agony and pain, and He stayed on the cross to pay the price for the sins of you and me. Praise and honor be to the Savior. Praise the Lord!
