"So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, 'Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?' " - John 21:15
"And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God and God in him." - 1 John 4:16
God is love and love originates from Him. He loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son to die in our place, a cruel death, while the sin of the whole world was placed on our Holy Savior on calvary. The greatest commandment from God to us is to love Him with all our heart, mind, and soul. We often fail to keep this commandment when we take our eyes away from God and seek our own will. Apostle Peter denied Jesus three times for which he was sorry and wept bitterly. Jesus restored Peter and during this time Jesus asked Peter if he loved Jesus more than the things he cared for. Everyone who believes in Jesus, the question we need to ask ourselves is, do we love Jesus more than anything else in this world? Let us seek God's help in loving Him with all our heart, mind, and soul. Only He can give us a heart to keep the greatest commandment.
Praise the Lord!
