"For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?" - Mark 8:36 "For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain." - Philippians 1:21 How do we measure success in life? The secular world's answer for this will be based on health, wealth, social, political, etc. status of one. From a biblical point, we measure success based on our faith in the Lord. Even a poor man who has faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is rich in the kingdom of God. Gaining the whole world will not gain anything in the kingdom of God. The poor man, Lazarus, ended up in Abraham's bosom after he died, while the rich man was separate in a state of torment. Apostle Paul under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit wrote, "For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain". As believers we look forward to the future glorious kingdom where living with Christ is indeed gain. Praise the Lord!
