| "The they [the Jews] said to Him [Jesus], 'What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?' " - John 6:28
"So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, 'It is finished!' And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit." - John 19:30
Except Christianity, all the religions of the world teach to 'do good works' to attain your own salvation. The questions the Jews, who just were filled of the food that Jesus gave them, asked Him about what works they can do to please God. Jesus' answer was simple "Believe in Me" (Jn 6:29). When Christ died on the cross, His last words were, "It is finished". He fulfilled the holy requirement of God and paid for the sin of the whole world. He purchased salvation for all those who will believe in His name. There is nothing more for us to do. While all religions say "do", Jesus said, "it is done... believe in Me". Let's not fall under the false teaching of salvation by works but believe in Jesus and trust Him alone.
