"For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven." - Matthew 5 V20

"Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law." - Romans 3 V28

Jesus Christ did not come to destroy the law but to fulfil it. The scribes and the Pharisees observed the law to the fullest extent, at least outwardly, but their hearts were far from God. The Lord Jesus raised the standard of following the law and said unless our righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, we will by no means enter heaven. Who then can enter heaven? The Lord Jesus gave the answer and He provided the way Himself. He offered a perfect sacrifice on the cross which was acceptable to God and those who believe in the Lord get to wear a clean robe of righteousness and God no more see the believers as sinners, but righteous. No one can ever keep the law and please God, but it is by faith we are justified apart from the deeds of the law. Praise God!

"And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work." - Jesus Christ

Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
