"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." - Ephesians 2 V8, 9

When the rich man came to Jesus and expressed his goodness, and obedience in following the law, he stumbled at one point, and that is, he loved his riches more than following Jesus. Jesus said, 'it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for the rich to enter the kingdom of God'. God knows the desires of human heart for it is wicked and our goodness is like filthy rags to Him. Who can please God by being obedient and by doing good works? God knew the weakness of human heart and He made the provision for us to receive His grace and salvation through His Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Salvation cannot be earned but it is a gift that God gives to those who believe in the Lord Jesus. Praise the Lord!
