Sorry for the lack of updates to the website over the last couple of weeks. I couldn't state the reason why at the time due to security reasons. I have been in Israel on a holiday over the past couple of weeks, and I just arrived back tonight. As many of you may know, the events of the past couple of weeks have been dramatic, with Obama making a major policy speech on the Middle East peace process. Of course there were no real surprises in it, we already knew Obama was embarking a decidedly anti-Israel approach from the very first day he took office. I think the surprise for the Israelis was that their closest ally in the world would effectively decide the outcome of the peace negotiations by publicly demanding that Israel withdraw to the so-called Auschwitz 'borders' of 1967, a major departure from President George Bush's letter to former Israeli PM Ariel Sharon which guaranteed that major settlement blocks would stay within Israeli jurisdiction. Then we had Obama's 'reassurance' to AIPAC, and PM Netanyahu's speech before the American Congress. And of course the Palestinian Nakba day, which happened to coincide with my second day in Israel, and the events on the Syrian and Lebanese borders. I was privileged to be able to travel to both these borders, in relative peace, although we did hear gunshots during the violence in Jerusalem and at the Syrian border. Clearly things are heating up as we draw near to the day in which the Palestinian Authority hopes to declare a state, and as we draw near to the soon coming of the Lord. I hope to have a few pictures uploaded of my visit to Israel within the next day or so. God bless.
