"...My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him" - Hebrews 12 V5

"As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent" - Revelation 3 V19

Not all like chastening and it is likely that we get discouraged when somebody does that to us. Only the wise understand that when the Lord chastens us, He does it for our good that we may turn away from sin. We discipline our kids when they do wrong and in a similar way our Lord rebuke and chastens those whom He loves and that all should repent. Do not let the chastening of our Lord discourage you but repent and draw close to God and He will draw close to you.
