"O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God - through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin." - Romans 7:24, 25
God's law is perfect, revealing His holy and righteous standard. No one who is not perfect can enter the presence of God. Blessed is the man who keeps God's law and walks in perfect integrity. Yet, sadly, there is no one who is perfect in every respect. All have sinned and fall far short of the glory of God. Left to ourselves, we stand guilty and without hope.
But praise be to God, for He came to our rescue through the Lord Jesus Christ. He perfectly kept the whole law, fulfilled all its righteous requirements, and remained completely without sin. Through His sacrificial death, He paid the penalty for the sins of all who trust in Him.
Blessed is the man who believes in and rests his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Clothed in Christ's righteousness, he will stand accepted in the presence of God and enjoy fellowship with Him forever.
