King Saul was anointed as the first king of Israel, yet he did not finish well in his faithfulness to the LORD. His priorities shifted, and he followed the desires of his own heart, repeatedly disobeying the commands of God. Because of this, the LORD rejected Saul and chose David, a man after His own heart, to shepherd His people.
Let us take this to heart and guard our priorities as Christians. It is a holy privilege to serve the Lord and to walk in obedience to Him. May we live for Christ with steadfast love, serving Him faithfully all our days.
