| "But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself." - Daniel 1:8
"For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil." - Hebrews 5:13, 14
It is only by the wisdom of God that we gain true discernment. In the world around us, we see countless imitations of righteousness. Evil often disguises itself as good, and many wolves roam in sheep’s clothing, seeking whom they may deceive and devour. But when we walk closely with the Lord and take up His Word as our defense, we are kept safe. He guides us in the choices of life and guards our hearts from deception. The key is to grow in the word of truth, to draw near to God, and to become mature and steadfast Christians.
Let us therefore purpose in our hearts that we will live for the Lord and for His glory alone.
Praise the Lord!
