"A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked." - Psalm 91:7,8 "Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God." - Revelations 19:15 We often find ourselves shrinking back when a great difficulty rises before us or when the enemies of our God seem overwhelming. Our instinct is to look for an escape, and in that moment we may forget that the Lord is with us. Yet our God never leaves nor forsakes His people. He has declared, “Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s” (2 Chronicles 20:15). The battle truly belongs to the Lord. Those who trust in Him can stand firm and witness how He deals with the wicked. And there is a future day coming—a battle unlike any before—when our Lord Jesus Christ Himself will return and bring an end to the greatest conflict the world has ever known. With the sword of His mouth, His powerful spoken word, He will destroy all who gather against God and His people. Let us therefore live with confidence, knowing that the Creator of the universe is with us always. Praise the Lord!
