"He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearer is silent, so He opened not His mouth." - Isaiah 53:7 "Then Pilate said to Him [Jesus], 'Are You not speaking to me? Do You not know that I have power to crucify You, and power to release You?' " - John 19:10 Many accusations were brought against Jesus, and false witnesses rose against Him. He was mocked, beaten, and crowned with thorns, yet He remained silent before His accusers. Pilate marveled at His quiet strength, but the crowd demanded, “Crucify Him!” Our Lord endured the suffering and the cross to bring us salvation. Come to Him and receive the grace He purchased with His own blood. Praise the Lord!
