| "And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without the shedding of the blood there is no remission." - Hebrews 9:22
"But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." - 1 John 1:7
The shedding of the blood was necessary for the forgiveness of sins. Hence God required animal sacrifices from the people of Israel. The high priest would enter the Holy of Holies only once a year, on the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), to perform a ritual of atonement for the sins of the people. This was done as per the commanded from God and done each year. Jesus Christ came as the Lamb of God to pay for the sins of the people once and for all. With His own blood He satisfied the Holy requirement of God. He shed His blood and obtained salvation for all His people. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. Believe in the Son of God Jesus Christ, and trust Him fully. For His blood provided remission for our sin and as a result we are no more slaves of sin.
