"He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease." - John 3:29,20 "According to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death." - Philippians 1:20 According to Jesus, John the Baptist was one of the greatest prophets. He was the forerunner announcing the coming kingdom of Christ, and preaching repentance through baptism. The people knew he was a great prophet due to his miraculous birth and preaching with authority and boldness. Yet, John the Baptist did not take any credit, but pointed people to Jesus. He called himself the friend of the bridegroom, Jesus. Everyone who believes in Jesus knows that Christ must be magnified in the world and in our lives. Apostle Paul had a similar testimony. He hoped earnestly in Christ and magnified Christ in his body and spirit after his great conversion. Let us keep this thought in our mind and heart that we may magnify Christ in everything we do. May Christ increase in us and our self decrease. Praise the Lord!
