"The ox knows its owner and the donkey its master's crib; but Israel does not know, my people do not consider." - Isaiah 1:3 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing!" - Luke 13:34 We see in the days of Isaiah the prophet, God was pleading with the people of Israel to return to Him. In fact, we see this throughout the old testament when God punished Israel for their unfaithfulness and idol worship, but God sought His people who were in bondage to return to Him. Lord Jesus wept over the city of Jerusalem because they had not changed and their hearts were hardened toward the Son of God who came to save them. Jesus gave us a picture of His love, how He wants to gather His children to protect and provide for them. Jesus Christ is knocking at every sinner's heart and He is waiting to come in. Do not forsake the voice of the Lord, but heed to His calling. Praise the Lord!
