"And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit." - Matthew 27:50
When the sin of the world was placed on Jesus, even God the Father forsook His Son and Jesus died on the cross. This was the reason for the agony of Jesus in Gethsemane because He and the Father knew about this very moment. Jesus was sinless and He became the spotless Lamb of God, perfect sacrifice pleasing to God. We are forgiven today because of Jesus' perfect sacrifice. All those who receive the free gift of salvation by believing in Jesus will live with Him for all eternity.
