"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light." - Ephesians 5:8
Our Lord compared the world to darkness because the deeds therein are evil. Those who are born into this world are by default born into darkness as the very nature or man is to do evil. But all this changes when one comes to know the Lord Jesus Christ. When we have a relationship with the Lord, we pass from darkness to light. Christ is the the light of the world and by joining Him we reflect His light into this dark world. Let us so shine before men, that men may see our work and glorify our Father in heaven. As we go about our work today, let's be mindful of bringing God the glory.
