"and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light." - Matthew 17:2 "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." - John 1:14 The transfiguration event was a brief preview of the glory of Jesus to the disciples. He kept aside His glory and took the form of a man and died for the sins of His people. Peter, James, and John were eye witnesses to the transfiguration of Jesus. John wrote in his gospel that he beheld the glory of Jesus - full of grace and truth. Jesus will one day return in His glory and He will set up His kingdom on earth. The saints of the Lord will also return with Him and that is represented by Moses and Elijah at the transfiguration of Jesus. Our sufferings and pain will fade off considering the glory that will be revealed when Jesus returns. Praise the Lord!
