"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." - John 14:27

"and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:7

Jesus did not promise His followers wealth and riches in this world. He did not come to provide bread and water in the physical sense, even though He could have done all that. The purpose of His first coming was to redeem us and offer us the gift of salvation. And as a result of becoming His followers, He warned us of trouble, because the world will hate us for being His follower. And one thing Christ promised us in our trouble is peace. The peace He offers surpasses all understanding and hence we can stand in joy even in the midst of our tribulation.
Praise the Lord!

"And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work." - Jesus Christ

Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
