"that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness." - Ephesians 4 V22-24

"Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him." - 1 John 2 V15

Even as Christians one of the tendencies we still possess is loving the things of the world and living in our former conduct, the old man. The moment we receive Christ into our lives, we are making the vow to surrender everything to Christ and let our Lord live in us. The scripture calls us to be renewed in the spirit of our mind and to put on the new man through Jesus Christ our Lord. Do not love the world if you are the child of God, but submit to the will of God and let the Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ lead you to do His will. Praise the Lord!
