"But when he came to himself, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!" - Luke 15 V17

"For whom the Lord loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives." - Hebrews 12 V6

The prodigal son thought the world was filled with pleasures and he left his father's house and spent his father's possessions on reckless living. But soon reality kicked-in and showed the prodigal son that life is not what he thought it to be and he found himself eating the swine's pods. There is a spiritual truth in this story. When we go away from our heavenly Father and choose to live life our own way, soon reality kicks-in and we realize the mess we are in. God uses the opportunity to chastise us and bring us back home. A true son or daughter of the Lord will repent and turn to the Father and ask the Father to restore the joy of salvation. Sometimes life's lessons are learned the hard way, but happy is the man whose hope is in the Lord. Do not despise the chastening of the Lord, but find encouragement and hope in life's lessons that the Lord teaches. Praise the Lord!

"And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work." - Jesus Christ

Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
