"Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution." - 2 Timothy 3 V12

"He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name." - Revelation 3 V12

Being a Christian comes with a price. When we become Christ's we are hated by the world, because the world knew Him not and they hate the Word of God. Christ warned His followers about the price they will need to pay and the persecution that awaits them in this world. But he who overcomes will be welcome in the kingdom of God and Christ Himself will give him a new name. Don't be deceived by the prosperity gospel that we see preached by so called Christian preachers. God did not promise prosperity to all His followers in this world, but He did offer His peace and the free gift of eternal life to those who receive Him as Lord and Saviour. If you are blessed by the Lord with riches, then praise the Lord, and use your blessings to bring God glory. If you are suffering persecution for Christ's sake, then rejoice and praise the Lord, for greater riches awaits you in Christ's kingdom. Praise the Lord!
