"Now the sons of Eli were corrupt; they did not know the Lord." - 1 Samuel 2 V12

"These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honour Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me." - Matthew 15 V8

We often ask people if they know the Lord, but an even better question would be if the Lord knows them? The sons of Eli lived with their father Eli in the temple of God and they offered sacrifices on behalf of the people to the Lord. But the Lord hated the conduct of Eli's sons and their sin was great in the sight of God. We need to examine our relationship with the Lord and make sure it is a personal relationship and not merely a lip service. We ought to live our lives bringing Him glory and serving Him all the time. That day the Lord will say to those who thought they were serving the Lord but were really serving themselves, 'depart from Me you workers of iniquity, I never knew you'. Come to the Saviour Jesus Christ and He will accept you the way you are, but come with the intention of having a personal relationship with the Saviour and living your life for Him. Praise the Lord!

"And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work." - Jesus Christ

Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
