Slippery Rock, a Pennsylvania university, will be moving from the old fashioned contact "magnetic strip" system to the contactless "RFID tag" system to pay for goods and services on campus and possibly up to 100 local merchants.

Quote:  Starting in August, Slippery Rock University's 8,500 students and faculty members will each receive a passive 13.56 MHz RFID tag they can attach to their cell phones. This tag will allow them to pay for everything from laundry and copier services to movies and groceries in the surrounding town of Slippery Rock, located about 50 minutes north of Pittsburgh.
The school is adopting the RFID system to enable students to spend money even if they leave their wallet and ID card at home. "We wanted to provide additional services to our students," says Robert Smith, president of Slippery Rock University, "and we've always taken a certain pride in the fact that we are technologically sophisticated on our campus."
Welsch doubts the system will save time on each transaction, but predicts its convenience will be an incentive for students to obtain the tag. "Certainly it is easy technology," he notes, "and the tag always stays in the consumer's hand—in this case, it's a phone."

At first glance, this seems fairly harmless and quite the convenience for a busy, preocuppied college student.  Apparently, ID cards and wallets are more likely to get left at home while cell phones are not.    Another aspect of this article is that the mindset is already there for contactless payment.

Quote:  The university set up a focus group, polling select students as to their spending behavior. It found the students were more likely to have a cell phone in their pocket than to carry even one dollar in cash., as their polling group

While we don't know if the RFID implant will be the mark of the beast, it sure is suspicious that it could be.  Our society is moving at breakneck speed towards a cashless society before the antichrist has even made his presence known.  The RFID payment system has the ability to control and track.  This seems to be the likely system perfect for the antichrist, as prophecied in Revelations.  The antichrist will require his mark on their bodies, along with a tracking type payment system.  It has to be trackable, otherwise how would he be able to control the buying and selling done by those with or without the "mark"?
If anyone reading this has not put their faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and invited Him into their life, please do not let another day go by without doing this.  When all is said and done, when our lives come to an end (and no one knows when that day will be) all our plans and works will be in vain.  The only work not done in vain is the giving up of ourselves to Christ and the salvation He provided for us on the cross for He is the only way to eternal life.

Rev 13:16-17  And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
