Barrack Hussein Obama was sworn in as President of the United States of America this week. Many evangelical Christians expressed their concerns over Obama's support for gay rights, abortion and his weakness on Islamic terrorism. Obama was elected on a wave of support by the media, both in Britain and the United States. In this country the BBC actively sought to portray Obama as the only real contender for the presidency, while others such as John McCain and Sarah Palin, who were more conservative in their outlook and had a Christian ethos to their policies, were openly berated in the press. President Barrack Obama, who is aspiring to please all people, had apparently chosen Saddleback Pastor Rick Warren to pray at his inauguration as a sop to the evangelical right. But when there was a 'public outcry' because of Warren's 'anti-gay' views, he chose the openly homosexual Bishop Gene Robinson to lead the prayer convocation. Comparing Rick Warren's prayer to that of Billy Graham's spoken at President Nixon's inauguration, it's easy to see just how far America as a nation has fallen. Rick Warren's prayer did not mention the Divinity of Jesus Christ. His prayer was tailored specifically so as not to offend Muslims, Jews and Catholics, by adding the Hebraic, Arabic and Hispanic names for Jesus. Unlike Graham's prayer, Warren did not mention the word sin, nor did he decry the moral depravity of the nation. Both things Billy Graham did at Nixon's inauguration. Of course there are positive points in Warren's prayer. But it seems to be a prayer that has been formulated by the President's office rather than by the Holy Spirit. Our concerns don't end there. Obama was advised to retake his oath of office after he bungled the first attempt by failing to repeat the pledge given by Chief Justice John Roberts correctly. He retook the oath in a private ceremony in the Map Room of the White House. But nobody thought to bring a Bible with them, and Obama took the pledge without it, leaving many Christians wondering just how deep Obama's faith really is. The honeymoon period for the evangelical right has been short-lived. Obama's agenda was published on the White House website on the day of his inauguration, pledging to repeal laws prohibiting homosexual marriage, to promote gay adoption rights and to enact laws criminalizing discrimination against people based on their sexual orientation. Just a day following the 36th anniversary of the Roe vs Wade ruling that legalized infanticide up to 24 weeks, Obama passed an executive order removing the prohibition on federal funding for international organizations performing or promoting abortions. If you are an American and you want to know where your country will be 12 years down the line, just take a look at Britain. Former Prime Minister Tony Blair was elected on a platform of change. The Labour government had no real policies, but they didn't need any. We just wanted rid of the corrupt Conservative government. Labour brought some horrific laws into effect in this country over the last decade, legalizing gay adoption, homosexual civil unions, bringing in Sunday opening for shops and a host of other things which have brought this country to its knees. No wonder we are now facing an economic crisis the like of which threatens to put the country into debt for up to four generations. America wanted rid of Bush at any cost. And they are now paying the highest price. But as my friend Cliff says, a country always gets the leaders they deserve. We've no-one to blame but ourselves. We have turned away from God and His Word. Billy Graham saw what was happening over forty years ago. He warned the nation where they were heading, but nobody paid any attention...

Quote: "Thou hast warned us in the Scriptures, "If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" As George Washington reminded us in his farewell address, morality and faith are the pillars of our society. We confess these pillars are being eroded in an increasingly materialistic and permissive society. The whole world is watching to see if the faith of our fathers will stand the trials and tests of the hour. Too long we have neglected Thy word and ignored Thy laws. Too long we have tried to solve our problems without reference to Thee. Too long we have tried to live by bread alone. We have sown to the wind and are now reaping a whirlwind of crime, division, and rebellion. And now with the wages of our sins staring us in the face, we remember Thy words, "If my people who are called by my Name shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

America and Britain are now reaping the whirlwind. They don't want God in their lives, and they are now throwing His commandments out of the statute books. But the Bible warns us what will happen to the nations that forget God...

Psalm 9:17
The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Do not forget God! Do what the wisest man who ever lived said, "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain", Ecclesiastes 12:1-2. Turn away from your sins. Turn to Jesus Christ for salvation before it is forever too late. The end of this world system is at hand. Make sure you don't perish with it.
