"...It is written, 'My house is a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves.' " - Luke 19 V46
"Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?" - 1 Corinthians 6 V19
Jesus drove out the merchants who were doing business in the temple and robbing the poor. The zeal for the house of God consumed Him and with a righteous anger He drove them out. There is a spiritual truth to learn here. The Holy Spirit of God resides in the hearts of those who have received Christ, but often times our love for the Lord grows cold and we let the desires and lusts of this world enter our hearts and minds. We should pray and examine ourselves and cleanse the temple of God, our hearts, by seeking God's forgiveness and repenting of any sinful living. Praise God!
"And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work." - Jesus Christ
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
