"Then the Lord said to Gideon, "By the three hundred men who lapped I will save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand. Let all the other people go, every man to his place." " - Judges 7 V7

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." - Ephesians 2 V8, 9

God let Gideon reduce his army to mere three hundred men, not because these three hundred men were extraordinary, but to show the people of Israel that God will deliver them by His own might and not the works of the men. Salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord is also the gift of God to those who believe. That's why the Bible makes it very clear that salvation is the gift and we cannot earn it nor do we deserve it, and really we cannot please God by our works. No one who is saved can boast about their works but we can only thank God and receive freely His grace that He offers through Jesus Christ. Praise God!

"And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work." - Jesus Christ

Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
