"So He drove out the man; and He placed a cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life." - Genesis 3 V24

"In the middle of its streets, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations." - Revelation 22 V2

When God created the world and the first man and woman, He placed the tree of life in the middle of the garden of Eden, and Adam and Eve could eat the fruit of this tree. When Adam and Eve sinned, God guarded the tree of life and it was no more available to man, because man would otherwise live forever in his sinful nature and never be reconciled with God. God sent His Son to die on the cross to reconcile us with Him, so one day we can live with Him in the new Jerusalem and there His people will once again freely eat of the tree of life. Praise the Lord for His great plan of salvation!

"And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work." - Jesus Christ

Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
