"My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor detest His correction;" - Proverbs 3 V11

"...I cried out to the Lord because of my affliction, and He answered me." - Jonah 2 V2

The prayer that Jonah prayed from the belly of the fish was painful and sad and yet Jonah knew where to turn during his affliction. Each one of us probably might have gone through similar experience of the chastening of the Lord because of our disobedience to His voice. We should not despise the chastening of the Lord but instead seek the will of God and turn to Him in prayer. When we cry out to Him, He will surely hear our prayer and heal us of our afflictions. Do not detest His correction, for whom the Lord loves He corrects.

"And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work." - Jesus Christ
