"Convert or die" minister to lead tour of IDF basePrint

A minister who has organized a tour of northern Israel for a group of Christians has come under fire from anti-missionaries who are opposed to Christians evangelising Jewish people. Richard Booker, Founder and Director of the Institute for Hebraic-Christian Studies, will take Christians on a tour of an IDF base where they will have lunch with the soldiers, after which they will proceed to a Children's Centre to distribute gifts of clothing and help them build their sukkah for the upcoming holiday. But Jerusalem City Council member Mina Fenton has opposed the group's visit to the IDF base, believing the tour is a cover for missionary activity. Earlier in the year a group of Christians had toured an IDF base, waving Israeli flags and playing musical instruments. The IDF soldiers joined in the singing, and the Christians started preaching the gospel to them. They were promptly escorted off the base. But it is the prophetic beliefs of Richard Booker that has upset the anti-missionaries the most...

Quote: "Teachings by their leader, however, show a distinct dissonance between the love he shows the Jews and the fate he foresees for them. Booker has written about what he calls "The Jews' Final Holocaust," predicting what has been known as a "convert-or-die" scenario. At the end of days, he writes, "hundreds of thousands of Jews will have come to accept Jesus as their Messiah. This will come about through the preaching ministry of 144,000 Jewish evangelists whom God will call especially for the purpose of preaching the gospel during the tribulation period... The Antichrist will march his troops into Israel and for a short period of time will occupy Jerusalem. Every nation will support his retaliation against Israel for their disturbing world peace. The Antichrist will kill two-thirds of all the Jews. This could mean that up to ten million Jews will be killed..." (quoted from his book, Blow the Trumpet in Zion.)

Sad to say there are well known Christians that oppose efforts to preach the Gospel to the Jews. This teaching is alien to Scripture. Sometimes I wonder what the Apostles would have made of men like John Hagee, whom I am told is against preaching the Gospel to the Jews, because of his organization's close affiliation with Israel.

Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

The Arutz 7 article mentions one Christian, a Pastor by the name of Kenneth Rawson, who is not only opposed to telling the Jews about their Messiah, but is actually working against those who are involved in this work!

Quote: "The most significant contribution we have made in the Christian world on behalf of the Jewish people is promoting the Dual Covenant concept. If Christians can be convinced that God is still in covenant relation with the Jewish people there is no need for missionaries targeting Jews. In the last decade two major Protestant denominations embraced the Dual Covenant concept. Additionally, assimilation and missionaries must be countered by deepening Jewish roots. Evangelicals are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in the United States, Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Republics, South America and Israel to target Jewish people for conversion. Various language versions of my video, ISRAEL: APPOINTMENT WITH DESTINY are being shown in Jewish schools, community centers, camps and distributed by Jewish leaders to their Jewish community to deepen Jewish roots.

There is no such thing as a Dual Covenant concept, this is nothing other than a lie from Satan designed for the purpose of damning precious souls to hell. There is a dual relationship, for the natural olive branches of Judaism were broken off, and the wild branches of the Gentiles were grafted into God's olive tree. And these natural branches will be regrafted into the olive tree, when the Jewish nation recognizes Yeshua as Messiah at the end of the tribulation period (Romans 11). But there is no such thing as a Dual Covenant. The Bible states that both Jew and Gentile are now one spiritually in the Messiah (Ephesians 2:14-15). The Old covenant, which could not justify the sinner before God, was fulfilled in Christ.

Hebrews 8:6-10
But now hath he (Christ) obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. For this [is] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

The fault God found in His covenant with Israel (the Mosaic covenant) was not in the law, for the law is perfect and shows us God's impecable standard of righteousness. But the fault with the old covenant is that it was based on man's ability to attain to God's righteousness, which is impossible for all have sinned and come short of God's glory (Romans 3:23). But as a result of Christ's sacrifice on the cross, the Lord was able to establish a better covenant with mankind, based on better promises. For the promises of the new covenant are no longer based on the righteousness of man, but upon the righteousness of Christ. It is no longer the "if thou shalt" of the old covenant (Deuteronomy 7:11-13), but the "I will" of the new (Hebrews 8:10). The writer to the Hebrews warned Jews that following the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the Jewish sacrificial system offered no more efficacy for sins (Hebrews 10:26-29). Praise God that there are Christian organizations that are fulfilling the great commission, preaching the Gospel to both Jew and Gentile (Luke 24:47, Acts 1:8).
