Suffer the little children
I find this news kind of ironic. You may remember how that when I was in Jerusalem on Nakba day, I mentioned the unrest in the Arab neighbourhood of Silwan, and how Arab youths were throwing stones at the Israeli police. I took a photograph of some of them just seconds after they had rained down a volley of stones on an Israeli jeep that was driving through the area. Most of the youths had concealed their identities with Palestinian keffiyehs wrapped around their heads. But one boy hadn't, and he looked as if he was only around seven or eight years old. Yesterday Israeli police caught a young boy throwing stones, only seven years of age, from that same neighbourhood we were in only two weeks ago. Of course the parents will say that he was only playing, just like any seven year old boy should be doing in a normal environment. And no doubt the liberal media will be making the most of the accusations of 'police brutality'. But as you can see from the photograph which I took in Israel at the time, this isn't any normal environment.

When IDF soldiers caught a would-be teenage suicide bomber who had tried to cross into Israel to commit a terror attack in 2004, BBC reporter Orla Guerin accused Israel of the “cynical manipulation of a Palestinian youngster for propaganda purposes”. The quick-thinking of those Israeli soldiers saved not only the life of that teenager, but perhaps the lives of dozens of innocent people who may have been caught up in this atrocity. But still, Israel must be blamed at all costs. You can't blame the religion that glorifies death and encourages its adherents to murder those of a different persuasion by promising eternal rewards in heaven. You can't blame the parents who pray that one day their child may become a shahid and bring honour to the family by killing themselves and murdering others. You can't blame the education system that teaches them the state of Israel does not exist, and that the Jews are colonial invaders which must be expelled from the land of Palestine. You can't blame their corrupt political leaders who speak peace in English but talk of genocide in Arabic. No, you must blame Israel.

Unfortunately we in the West have still not learned the lesson of how to deal with Islamic terrorism. And today the international community is demanding that we give these people a state of their own. But as Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu points out, the issue has never been about the lack of a Palestinian state. If it were, Egypt and Jordan could have created a Palestinian state on the territory they once controlled over 40 years ago. The real issue is the existence of the Jewish state. That is why the Palestinian Authority do not want to negotiate a peace agreement with the Jewish people, and do not want to recognize Israel as a Jewish state. That is why the liberal media sees Arab lives as being cheap in places like Iraq and Afghanistan, but if Israel is involved in any way, it becomes headline news. Unfortunately things are not going to get any better for Israel, at least in the short term. For the Bible predicts that all the nations of the earth, including America, will align themselves against Israel. And according to Zechariah's prophecy, the status of Jerusalem will become like a burdensome stone to all people (Zechariah 12:2-3). According to the Bible, the city of Jerusalem will be redivided, and the period that is known as the time of Jacob's trouble will then commence. As you can see from the news, the fulfilment of these prophecies are at hand. The Lord's return for His people must be soon. We do not claim to know the day or hour of His coming, no man knows these things. But we believe, when we look at what is happening in the world, that it is drawing near. That is why we proclaim this message, so that many people may know the reason why all these things are happening, what the Bible says is yet to come to pass, and how to prepare for eternity. We proclaim this message so that people may know their sins forgiven, and come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. Have you sins been forgiven? Have you trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation? Do not put it off another day. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved (Acts 16:31).

Matthew 11:28
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
