"There is one who makes himself rich, yet has nothing; And one who makes himself poor, yet has great riches." - Proverbs 13 V7 "...One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasures in heaven; and come take up the cross, and follow Me." - Mark 10 V21 Having riches on earth but no Christ is of no use. "Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy."(1 Timothy 6 V17) and again, "Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten."(James 5 V2). If the riches we have is not used for the glory of God then it is better to have no riches. Our true riches are stored in heaven for when we serve on earth we earn in heaven. "And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work." - Jesus Christ |
