The British Ministry of Defence has announced they are planning to release 160 UFO files over the next three years, following an increase in public interest in the phenomenon. Nick Pope, who ran the UFO investigation programme at the MoD from 1991 to 1994, says his staff spent much of their time just releasing documents for Freedom of Information requests, rather than investigating new sightings. The publishing of the British UFO files will begin in the Spring, and it is hoped that this will free up time for staff to concentrate on other work. It follows a similar decision by the French government earlier in the year. Around 10,000 sightings have been reported to the MoD over the last fifty years, and around 5% of these still remain unexplained. Nick Pope says he was initially skeptical about the existence of UFOs, but later changed his mind after reading reports of several credible sightings, mainly from police and military personnel.

Quote: "One such sighting was of a "vast, triangular-shaped craft" firing a narrow beam of light onto the ground and emitting a low-frequency humming sound that was spotted flying over RAF Cosford in the West Midlands and RAF Shawbury in Shropshire in 1993. In another incident, at the Twin Bases of RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge in Suffolk in December 1980, RAF staff were sent to investigate a suspected plane crash after bright lights were reported emanating from nearby woods. They found a kind of lunar landing module standing on three legs, decorated with strange hieroglyphic-type markings, which then flew off.

As the article states, the Ministry of Defence has investigated the UFO phenomena for over sixty years, yet they still haven't come to a conclusion. If these beings were from another planet, it would be unthinkable that after sixty years we would still know nothing about who they are or where they are coming from. Leading ufologists no longer believe that these craft are from outer space. The distances they would have to travel are too large for manned flight. Then you have the problem of micrometeorites, which would theoretically destroy any spaceship travelling at high speeds. And the energy required for a ship to travel to the nearest star system is much greater than anything we can reproduce on earth. Many now believe that these beings are from earth's locality, but come from another dimension. This may explain why UFOs are able to appear and disappear at will, and why the MoD still has no idea what they are dealing with.

In 1976 he said: "There are just too many things going against this theory. To me, it seems ridiculous that super intelligence would travel great distances to do relatively stupid things like stop cars, collect soil samples, and frighten people." (Jacques Vallee, Revelations, p. 290). After 30 years of serious UFO research, Hynek finally adopted the theory that UFOs are from another dimension, or a parallel reality (Bob Larson, UFOs and the Alien Agenda, p. 93).

I was reading up on a New Age website not so long ago. I don't like to dwell on these things for too long, as it affects me spiritually. But I wanted to try and understand what New Agers believe about this phenomena. According to their website, these beings claim that they are of a higher spiritual plain than we are, and are composed of a finer density of matter which cannot be seen by the human eye. They claim to inhabit all the planets in our solar system. I don't know how much truth is in that statement, but the Bible does state that there is a spiritual dimension to this world, and that the heavens are primarily where these spiritual beings reside (Ephesians 2:2). The Bible says that God "maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire", Psalm 104:4. Although many of them may follow the evil one, praise God that there are many more of them who are "sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation", Hebrew 1:14. Mankind was made a little lower than the angels (Psalm 8:5), but praise God that mankind has been offered the opportunity to be redeemed, through Christ's sacrifice on the cross nearly 2000 years ago. That opportunity has not been afforded to angelic spirits. As the song goes:-

Angels never knew the joy that is mine,
For the blood has never washed their sins away;
Though they sing in Heaven there will come a time
When silently they listen to me sing "Amazing Grace".

For the second time this week, a Japanese politician has expressed their personal belief in the existence of UFOs. In response to a question last week by opposition lawmaker Ryuji Yamane, Chief Cabinet Secretary Nobutaka Machimura said he personally believed UFOs were real, but that Japan had no UFO research programme nor an official policy for dealing with UFO encounters. The opposition member called on the government to develop a policy for dealing with UFOs, in response to the "incessant" number of sightings that are being reported. Japanese Defence Minister Shigeru Ishiba has now been drawn into the debate. Ishiba said he believed UFOs existed, and could be responsible for unnatural earth formations such as the Nazca lines and similar etchings in Peru. He has stated that Japan's pacifist constitution would make it illegal to mount a military response, so long as the extra-terrestrials declared their peaceful intentions.

Quote: ""There are no grounds for us to deny there are unidentified flying objects and some life-form that controls them,'' Ishiba said. "Few discussions have been held on what the legal grounds are'' for a military response. Ishiba said that, if the aliens arrived in Japan in peace, a military response would not be legal under the terms of Japan's pacifist Constitution. He also said he was concerned about communication difficulties if a UFO landed. ``If they descended, saying 'People of the Earth, let's make friends,' it would not be considered an urgent, unjust attack on our country,'' he said. "How can we convey our intentions if they don't understand what we are saying?''

And Japan isn't the only country where politicians have recently aired their belief in UFOs. Several US Presidents have said they have experienced UFO sightings, and one Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich has stated his personal belief in their existence. I recently watched a Christian drama on the UFO phenomenon. It portrayed two reporters, one skeptical and another a believer, who were called to investigate a UFO sighting. The film stated that UFO sightings always seemed to happen around people who were already involved in the occult. This article says that Dennis Kucinich is a close friend of New Age author Shirley MacLaine, and of course it is primarily the New Age movement that is proclaiming the message that these "space beings" are here to help mankind evolve to the next level of spiritual consciousness.

But so have a lot of other Americans. "It's interesting to see how a lot of people start hyperventilating about this because it really says something more about them than about me. "Shirley is a dear friend of mine, but if I was writing a book I might give a slightly different account."

And of course we have the international panel of UFO experts who have called on the United States to re-open its UFO investigation programme. Perhaps some day the lid will be blown off the UFO cover-up. And as the public becomes more and more accepting of the UFO phenomenon, when millions of people disappear, it will be the natural thing for world leaders to announce that we are not alone. The book of Revelation states that half way through the tribulation period, earth will experience a heavenly invasion. For there will be a war in heaven (the first and second heavens - the atmosphere and outer space - 2nd Corinthians 12:2), and Satan and his angels will be cast down to the earth.

Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.

Mankind is not prepared for such an event. No military on earth can stop this invasion. The only power that is effective against this force is the blood of Jesus Christ. 1st John 4:4 says, "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world". Revelation 12:11 says, "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death". If you belong to Jesus Christ, no power in heaven or on earth can touch you (Romans 8:35-39). Praise God that Jesus Christ is coming back for those who have trusted in Him for salvation.

A Federal Judge has ruled that NASA must comply with a Freedom of Information Act request to hand over all its information on an alleged UFO sighting which was reported in Kecksburg, Pennsylvania in 1965.  Freelance journalist Leslie Kean was asked by the SciFi channel to find a UFO case with credible witnesses and possible physical evidence, for a documentary that was being produced by the television company. Kean submitted a Freedom of Information Act request with NASA in order to obtain any information the US space agency might have on the Kecksburg incident. After a denial that the organization was in possession of any such information, Kean filed a lawsuit forcing NASA to hand over any information relating to the case. A 1000 page document was then produced by NASA, but this satisfied neither Kean nor the judge, who has now requested that NASA search its entire archives for information on the Kecksburg incident.

Quote: "Bill Bulebush, 82, says he knows what he saw, heard and smelled, despite the doubts of the government and others in this community 40 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. "I looked up and saw it flying overhead and it was sizzling," said Bulebush, a retired truck driver. "I found it in the woods down there [in a valley] and I got to it 15 to 20 minutes after it landed. I saw it 10 to 15 feet away from behind a big tree -- because I was worried it might blow up -- and it smelled like sulphur or rotten eggs and was shaped like a huge acorn, about the size of a VW." Other people said that shortly afterward, dozens of Army soldiers and three members of the Air Force showed up; later that night a flatbed military truck took the object away.

Many of those who report such encounters with UFOs and their pilots often describe the same unusual phenomena, a nauseating smell of sulphur and sometimes a hostile intent towards human life. The archaic name for sulphur - brimstone, is associated in the Scriptures with God's judgement. The Bible states that the Lord rained down "fire and brimstone" in the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19:24). The place of torment prepared by God for the eternal damnation of Satan and his angels also burns with "fire and brimstone" (Revelation 20:10). The same smell has also apparently been associated with ghostly apparitions and demonic activity. It seems that UFO sightings and other unexplained phenomenon are becoming more and more commonplace today, and harder to explain away. Just last year a major UFO sighting occurred at O'Hare's airport in Chicago. A UFO was witnessed by a least a dozen airport employees, including baggage handlers, maintenance crew and several pilots. The object was alleged to hover over the United Airlines terminal for a few minutes, and then shot off into the sky. According to the FAA, the control tower staff saw nothing out of the ordinary, either visually or on radar. No investigation is being carried out by the government or the Aviation Authority. 

Quote: ""I tend to be scientific by nature, and I don't understand why aliens would hover over a busy airport," said a United mechanic who was in the cockpit of a Boeing 777 that he was taxiing to a maintenance hangar when he observed the metallic-looking object above Gate C17. "But I know that what I saw and what a lot of other people saw stood out very clearly, and it definitely was not an [Earth] aircraft," the mechanic said. One United employee appeared emotionally shaken by the sighting and "experienced some religious issues" over it, one co-worker said. A United manager said he ran outside his office in Concourse B after hearing the report about the sighting on an internal airline radio frequency. "I stood outside in the gate area not knowing what to think, just trying to figure out what it was," he said. "I knew no one would make a false call like that. But if somebody was bouncing a weather balloon or something else over O'Hare, we had to stop it because it was in very close proximity to our flight operations."

And even over my home town of Bangor, strange lights have been seen in the sky. I didn't see them, but my dad did. A few weeks ago, an international panel comprising of a dozen former pilots and government officials called on the United States to reopen its UFO investigation programme. Each person on the panel has either witnessed a UFO sighting first hand, or has been involved in the investigation of an alleged incident. James Fox, director and producer of a Ufology documentary "Out of the blue", believes the outing of such information would have a "unifying effect on all of us". But perhaps the time is not yet right. The Bible states that during the tribulation period, God will send unbelieving men strong delusion so they might believe a lie, that all might be damned who believed not the truth (2nd Thessalonians 2:11). We're not told what that lie will be, but according to New Age teaching, I think it may be related to the rapture of the Church and linked with the UFO phenomenon. In any case millions of people suddenly disappearing into thin air will have an enormous unifying effect on the nations of earth, and if Satan is to pull off such a deception to cover up the truth, this would be the best time to reveal to the world that "we are not alone". Of course the Bible never said we were alone, there are millions and millions of demons out there, bent on bringing about the damnation of the human race. Praise God that Jesus Christ is coming again to take His Church home. The question is, are you ready to go? Trust in Jesus Christ for salvation today.

An international panel of two dozen former pilots and governmental officials called on the US government to reopen investigations into UFO sightings today, amid concerns over safety and national security. Each member of the panel has either witnessed a UFO first-hand, or has conducted an investigation into an alleged sighting. James Fox, producer and director of the documentary "Out of the blue", has teamed up with the group to pressure the US government to start an international exchange of information on the phenomenon.

Quote: "Using previously classified documents, the group intends to discuss many well-documented cases, including two already investigated by the American government. The two cases include a Peruvian Air Force pilot who fired several rounds at a craft that was not affected and an Iranian pilot who claims his control panel became inoperable when he attempted to fire on a UFO. Both pilots will speak publicly about the events on Monday at a panel discussion in Washington D.C., moderated by Arizona Governor Fife Symington.

James Fox believes that despite ending its "Blue Book" investigations into UFOs several decades ago, the US administration continues to covertly document the sightings. He also said the reason why world governments may be reluctant to go public about the phenomenon could be because they do not want to admit they cannot control their airspace. Fox also commented that if everyone came clean on the issue, it would have a "unifying effect" on the inhabitants of planet earth...

Quote: ""Several generals are here, and they said that it's difficult for any military force to disclose information that would suggest they don't have control, and expose their weaknesses," he said. Fox, who is producing a follow-up to his UFO documentary, thinks the outing of such information "would definitely have a unifying effect on all of us, and it would give us the bigger picture of how we fit into the universe. We're not the only planet with life or the only intelligence in the universe, which in my opinion would be rather depressing." 

And that is what I find most disturbing about this article. For this idea that mankind must somehow be united in order to survive is the same one that is being promoted by these so-called extra-terrestrials and their abductees. I commented on this aspect of the UFO phenomenon in recent news event that was related to this issue. One thing Fox did get right, we are not the only intelligence in this universe. There is another intelligence out there that is vastly superior to mankind's, and poses a very definite threat to this planet. The Bible calls him the "god of this world" (2nd Corinthians 4:4), and the "prince of the power of the air" (Ephesians 2:2). He has millions and millions of demons at his bidding, who's goal it is to deceive mankind and ultimately destroy God's creation. One of the ways he is attempting this is to unite all nations under one governmental system (Daniel 7:23). Satan will then promote a man to head this world government (2nd Thessalonians 2:4), who will lead one final attempt to destroy God's people (Daniel 8:24) and prevent Christ from coming back to rule and reign over the earth (Revelation 17:14). If you are a Christian, if your sins are forgiven (Ephesians 1:7) and you have the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of you (Ephesians 1:13), then praise God that "greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world (the devil)", 1st John 4:4. According to New Age and occult teaching, mankind is being prepared for an event in which millions of people will mysteriously disappear. Satan will be doing his level-best to disguise this event as some sort of extra-terrestrial intervention in this world's evolutionary cycle. But in reality the disappeared will be Christians, who will have been taken home to be with Christ when He comes for His Church (John 14:3). Satan is real, demons are real, UFOs are real (although not alien life forms), the Bible is real, Heaven is real and Jesus Christ is the true Messiah. Don't be deceived, and don't say nobody warned you. Trust in Jesus Christ for salvation today.
