I don't normally reprint articles from the National Canadian Newspaper or others that tend to focus on the paranormal from a New Age perspective, but I thought that this particular article was very interesting, and bears some relevance to the times we are living in. There is some truth in the New Age movement. Those involved in it are acutely aware of a spiritual dimension that most people don't even know exists. Many recognize that there are unseen powers at work in the world, exerting their influence over humanity either for better or for worse. And some even have a limited knowledge of future events as mentioned in Bible prophecy. But sadly most are deceived as to the true identity of these beings, and so remain in spiritual darkness. But there are those that have come to the knowledge of the truth, who have discovered who these beings are and what their purpose is in visiting this planet. John Todd, a former insider in the New Age movement, and brother to the former high-priestess of Ohio, gives us some insight into the UFO phenomenon. Quote: “My sister, before my wife came around, used to be leader of the state of Ohio, the high-priestess there (of a coven), of the whole state. And her little past-time was calling up, supposedly, filling the sky with UFOs, and watching everybody’s excitement. And some of the most outstanding sightings were in the early 70s in Ohio. And she used to laugh about it, because she'd be standing in a circle (pentagram) out in a field somewhere calling up demons. And that's all they were, were 'angels of light' playing games in the sky. Remember, a demon, forget the little spooky picture, they are a fallen angel, an unclean spirit. They can assume any form or go into any thing, except a Christian who walks in the Spirit all the time... in other words a Christian who keeps under the blood and so on. But they can assume forms including spacemen or solid objects like flying saucers, or so on. That's why when they appear on the radar scope and a jet gets up there, they vanish right in front of the pilot's eyes. Because they're nothing but a spirit.

John Todd's sister isn't the only person who has claimed to be able to summon 'UFOs' at will. A few years ago I commented on another man, by the name of the Prophet Yahweh, who claimed that UFOs were really the angels of 'Yahweh', and that he was able to summon them at will. Of course the Yahweh he speaks of is not the God of the Bible, but Satan. Nor are these entities the angels of God, but demonic spirits. God did not give man authority over angelic beings, so you can pretty much guarantee that any person or religion that claims to have received hidden knowledge from angels is false (e.g., Todd Bentley and the angel Emma, Mohammed and the angel Gabriel, Mormon and the angel Moroni). And again, the apparent hidden knowledge of future events was associated with the beings that visited Prophet Yahweh. When asked why these entities were appearing to him, he said, ”One of the many reasons why they will do this is to show support for Presidential candidate Barack Obama. This will be done so people will know that Obama is the best choice to lead America through the troublesome times to come. YAHWEH wants people to know that if Barak Obama does not become President, America will quickly be led into a war with Russia via Iran that will result in: a cut off of oil from the Persian Gulf, a great depression, stock market crash, runaway inflation, devaluation of the dollar, food shortages, riots, famine, race wars, out breaks of disease, etc.”

As I said at the time, the 'Yahweh' this man speaks of is not the God of the Bible. In my Bible it is God Himself that brings all these things about during the last days, so that He may get the glory. It is God who puts His hooks in the jaw of Russia, to bring it against the land of Israel in the latter days (Ezekiel 38:4). In Prophet Yahweh's statement, Ezekiel's war is seen as something to be avoided, rather than something that will bring glory to God (Ezekiel 39:7). In my Bible it is God who will bring judgement upon the nations during the tribulation period (Revelation 6:15-16). There is no mention of judgement for sin in the Prophet Yahweh's remarks, only a vague reference to a 'troublesome time to come'. Maybe Prophet Yahweh's friends do not want him to know the real reason why this world is heading for a 'troublesome time'. In my Bible, God is not dependent upon a certain man, and an ungodly one at that, leading a nation in a time of trial. Or even on the result of an election. The God of the Bible puts whoever He wants into office (Daniel 4:17). And if the right man isn't available, He has one born to do the job (Isaiah 44:28). As you can see, Prophet Yahweh's god is not the God of the Bible, it is none other than Satan himself, the deceiver who masquerades as an “angel of light” (2^nd Corinthians 11:14).

As the fulfilment of end time Biblical prophecies draw near, we can only expect to see more deceptions of this kind. When the disciples enquired of the Lord Jesus Christ what would be the sign of His coming and of the end of the age, His first words to them were, “Take heed that ye be not deceived”, Luke 21:8. The Lord said that in the last days there would arise false messiahs and false prophets who would show “great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect”, Matthew 24:24. Such shall be the strength of the deception. Friend, if you are not part of the elect, if you do not belong to Christ, they you too will be deceived. But it doesn't have to be that way. You can know the Truth. Jesus Christ said, “I am the way, the truth and the life”, John 14:3. He said of those who trust in Him, “ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”, John 8:32. Would you like to know the Truth? Would you like to be free from the bondage of sin and Satan? Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation today.

This from my friend Laura. Footage of an unidentified flying object hovering over the Dome of the Rock has left UFO experts agog. In the film, a glowing orb-like object is seen slowly descending over the Islamic shrine where it remains stationery for a few seconds, before rapidly accelerating again into space. The event was apparently recorded from four separate locations in Jerusalem, making the possibility of a deliberate hoax less likely. The clarity of the images and the fact that tourists can be heard in the background responding to the appearance of the object, and its sudden disappearance again, makes it much more difficult to dismiss.

Quote: "Some UFO enthusiasts believe the videos -- which have taken the Internet by storm -- are final proof that aliens exist, while others say the unidentified object was the Hebrew god Elohim. Adding to the mystery is the fact that flying over the Dome of the Rock landmark -- an ancient Islamic shrine -- is forbidden. Two witnesses at the Armon Hanatziv panoramic lookout near Mount Zion filmed the object at 1am on Saturday. A little after one minute into the clip, the object descends slowly, almost to ground level. Former Ministry of Defense UFO investigator Nick Pope said: "If these are real, they are some of the most incredible videos ever shot. "If they are not, then this is a very well-planned and coordinated hoax designed to eliminate elements of doubt.

Assuming the footage is indeed genuine, the question in my mind is, who was behind this incident and why? One possibility is that it could have been a manmade object. But then which government was behind it? And why was no clear message of intent delivered? And even if they had the technology to do this, it is extremely doubtful that the Israelis would bomb the Dome of the Rock now. Irreparable damage would be done to the Temple Mount, and the entire Islamic world would be united against them. Another possibility is that this orb was extra-terrestrial in origin. But then even if aliens exist, which they do not, and assuming they had the technology to do it, why would they bother sending a probe billions of light years across the galaxy just to park above the Temple Mount for a few brief seconds before shooting off again? As the article suggests, some have speculated that this could be the Hebrew God Elohim. But the Lord Jesus Christ was received up into heaven bodily from the Mount of Olives, not Mount Moriah. And the angels told the disciples in Acts 1:11 that He would return again in exactly the same manner, as described in Zechariah 14.

And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. 

There is one other alternative, that this orb is a manifestation of a demonic spirit, and this is the most likely possibility in my mind. I do not believe that angelic spirits would appear in such a manner as to deceive people. But demonic spirits may. And I believe that Satan is intent on deceiving mankind into believing anything but the truth. You may remember a couple of years ago a story I commented on about a prominent Australian psychic by the name of Blossom Goodwin. She claimed to be in direct contact with extra-terrestrials calling themselves the Federation of Light. These beings were planning to 'materialize' a spacecraft above the skies of an American city in full view of the world's media, with the aim of proving once and for all that aliens existed. The aliens reportedly told Blossom that earth is heading towards a time of great calamity, and that their intention is to intervene and assist mankind in its transition to the next level of consciousness. A quote from Blossom's own writings stated, "We are beings from other planets, who for many eons of your time have been preparing for these days ahead... If we do not intervene now... as has been planned for eons of your earth time... then we fear it would be too late." But as I pointed out at the time, how are these aliens able to know the future of planet earth? Why the need to intervene specifically now, and not five or ten years ago? Why is contact only being made with individuals and not human governments? And why have they been planning this for eons of our time? It doesn't make any sense, until you look at it on a spiritual level.

Satan and his angels do know the future of mankind, but only what has been revealed by God through the Scriptures. Satan was able to misquote the Scriptures to the Lord Jesus Christ during the temptation in the wilderness (Matthew 4). In Revelation 12:12, Satan is also cast down to earth, having great wrath because he knows he has but a short time left. Satan is not omniscient, but he does know the Scriptures, and so has a limited knowledge of future events. Why the need to intervene specifically now? And why no contact with human governments? I think this is because he is restricted by God in what he is able to do. Satan's man, the antichrist, can only arise once He that hinders has been taken out of the way (2nd Thessalonians 2:7). I believe 'He that hinders' in this verse refers to the Holy Spirit working through the Church. But even if it is not, Satan can only go as far as the Lord permits (Job 2:6). And why the planning for eons of our time? Satan has of course been plotting man's downfall since the beginning of creation, since the very first murder (Genesis 4:8). His goal has always been to destroy mankind, and to prevent the arrival of the Messiah, the promised deliverer (Genesis 3:15).

Perhaps this object above the Temple Mount was a sort of 'dry run' for something bigger that is to happen in the not too distant future. Perhaps Satan is intent on manifesting some sort of UFO like the one Blossom describes, with the aim of uniting the world under one authority and presenting himself as the saviour of mankind from some yet-unseen calamity. Perhaps this could form part of the 'lie' which people will believe during the tribulation period (2nd Thessalonians 2:11), that the true believers were actually caught up into alien spacecraft rather than caught up to be with the Lord (1st Thessalonians 4:17). That is what the New Age is already teaching. As you can see, tremendous things are now happening in the Middle East. Massive political upheavals and now possible demonic manifestations. Christ's return is drawing near. One day Christ will come to the air. He is coming for all those who have trusted in Him for salvation, to take them to be with Him where He is (John 14:3). And it could all happen, quicker than this UFO appeared and disappeared again. One day you may wake up and be reading about it in your morning paper. Don't wait until it's too late. Turn away from your sins, and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation today.

Prominent theoretical physicist Professor Stephen Hawking has warned that establishing contact with alien civilizations could prove detrimental to the survival of the human race. In a recent documentary for the Discovery Channel, the ardent evolutionist stated that it was perfectly rational to assume that life may exist elsewhere in the universe, due to the sheer number of stars that have been discovered. But Hawking remarked that mankind should avoid making contact with such civilizations, drawing his conclusions from world history in which invading powers more often than not took advantage of the native populace for their own ends. There is no reason to presume that an alien race, no matter how technologically advanced, may not also be tainted by similar passions for greed and gain.

Quote: "If aliens visit us, the outcome would be much as when Columbus landed in America, which didn't turn out well for the Native Americans," he said. Prof Hawking thinks that, rather than actively trying to communicate with extra-terrestrials, humans should do everything possible to avoid contact. He explained: "We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn't want to meet." 

That is of course assuming that aliens do exist and that they have the technology required for interstellar space travel. The International Journal of Astrobiology recently concluded in a research paper that the distances between the stars are so vast that they make radio communications between them, never mind space travel, a practical impossibility. So even if intelligent life existed on other planets, the chances of us actually making contact with them are non-existent. There are those who believe that extra-terrestrials are already visiting this planet, and claim to have been in contact with them through mental telepathy. One such person was Blossom Goodwin, an Australian medium and author, who revealed that alien beings were planning to materialize a UFO in the skies above an American city last year. The aliens aim in doing this was to prove to the world that they exist, and their reason for making contact was to guide humanity through a period of great trouble ahead of us. According to Blossom's spirit guide, these beings have been planning this intervention in world history for eons of time, and they fear if they do not intervene now it will be too late. They also claim to know certain secrets which have been hidden from mankind. Any of that sound familiar? Some ufologists have admitted that they now believe UFOs are not extra-terrestrial in origin at all, but rather that they are coming from another dimension. As we said before, the distances involved in space travel are immense. Why would an alien go to the bother of travelling billions of light years across the galaxy to some backwater planet just to scare a flock of sheep, and then only to disappear again just as suddenly as they arrived? Aren't they intelligent enough to make contact with our governments? Or are they merely observing us, while pulling the strings behind the scenes in a spiritual realm that is beyond our sight? I do believe some of the UFO sightings that are reported in the media are genuine. But I think you will agree, these are not the benevolent beings that Professor Hawking mentions. These are demonic spirits that have an intense interest in the affairs of mankind. These beings have been planning the downfall of the human race ever since they rebelled against their Creator in the beginning, and they know that God will soon bring His judgement upon this world. Even Satan can quote the Scriptures, albeit incorrectly (Luke 4:10-12), so these 'aliens' are bound to know what is prophesied to come to pass in the last days. And their intent is to deceive people, to make it appear as if they know what is to befall us in the future, and that they really have our best interest at heart. Their goal is to stop people turning to Christ when they see all these things coming to pass that the Bible speaks of, and instead set themselves up as the saviours of mankind. And the 'hidden secrets'? Why didn't they just tell Blossom then and there what they were? Why all the fuss? In reality these 'hidden secrets' are just the same lies the devil told Eve in the Garden of Eden. Satan claimed that God had hidden certain things from them, and that if they followed his way instead of God's way, they would become as gods knowing good and evil (Genesis 3:5). Well we all know what happened after that. 

But in spite of all this deception, Hawking has said something that is profoundly true. "We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn't want to meet." If there was a race of beings on another planet as depraved as our own, would we want to make contact with them? Probably not. And these demonic spirits, through their human abductions and new age deceptions, have shown themselves to be every bit as depraved as ourselves. But Hawking never explained why intelligent life on Earth ended up this way, or even why we find these things to be morally repugnant. For evolution is an amoral theory. It offers no moral absolutes, no sense of right or wrong. But Hawking's statement shows that even in the heart of the atheist, there is an acknowledgement that all is not as it should be. The Bible explains that God is our Creator, and that He created us with the purpose of enjoying an eternal relationship with Himself. But when we look at ourselves, as Adam and Eve did in the garden, we realize that something is not right. Our relationship with our Creator has been broken because of sin. Rather than acknowledging that fact and being reconciled to our God, some like Hawking and Dawkins have invented these ideas about evolution and alien species to try and erase the consciousness of God from their minds and ease their consciences of sin. That's why people like Dawkins are determined to prove to everyone there is no God, because they do not want to admit that their relationship with God is broken and that they need to do something about it. They would rather believe that God did not exist. But that will not solve their problems.

But there is good news. God has devised a means whereby His banished be not expelled from Him (2nd Samuel 14:14). God sent His Son Jesus Christ into this world so your relationship with God could be restored. He dealt with the problem of your sin when He offered Himself as a sacrifice upon the cross of Calvary (John 1:29, Hebrews 9:26). And now God promises eternal life to all who will accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour (John 5:24, 1st John 5:11). And the Lord said that all who will believe on Him shall be indwelled by God's Holy Spirit (John 7:38, John 14:23). Thus our relationship with God can be fully restored. It's living as we were created to. Why don't you turn away from your sins, and accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour today? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved (Acts 16:31).

Jordan's CE4 website is filled with similar testimonies of people who have experienced abduction attempts and have managed to halt them after calling on the name of Jesus Christ. As Jordan points out, if these beings are indeed extra-terrestrial in origin, there is no reason why they should respond to the name of Jesus Christ. But the fact that they are subservient to that name, and not Buddha or Mohammed, suggests that these aliens are spiritual entities whose ultimate aim is to deceive mankind. The CE4 website quotes from several Christian authors who believe that this demonic deception will form part of the end time delusion.

That, say religious leaders, indicates a deceptive entity is at work. "Both the seemingly benign and hostile entities... will play an increasing role in preparing a segment of humanity for the reception of the Antichrist," writes best selling author David Allen Lewis and Robert Shreckhise in UFO: End-Time Delusion. And the cover of The Agenda, The Real Reason They're Here gives this premise: "In the near future, God will evacuate millions of people from the horrors to follow. Aliens will take the credit" for the Rapture (when Christians will be supernaturally airlifted to heaven), writes B. Fox, a MUFON researcher who resides in - of all places- Roswell, New Mexico. Unfortunately we have already witnessed this delusion first hand. Last year our attention was drawn to Todd Bentley, who gave a graphic description of his own abduction experience at one of his meetings, but like Whitley Streiber, reinterprets his terrifying ordeal as a religious experience given to him by God. For Bentley, the operating room became heaven, the aliens became angels and the operation was designed to implant truth in his inward parts. Had the same experience happened to a non-believer, they might have arrived at a very different conclusion. The Bible explains for us the origin of these beings (Jude 1:6, possibly Genesis 6:1-4, Revelation 12:4). They are spiritual in nature. That is why despite years of research, no conclusive proof of extra-terrestrial life has ever been discovered. They oppose everything to do with God. That is why they can't stand the name and person of Jesus Christ. They seek to bring mankind into the bondage of sin. That is why they they put people through these horrific experiences. I believe the UFO phenomenon will form a large part of the end time deception. We have already seen a significant rise in public interest in the UFO phenomenon following the release of classified reports by the British and French governments. The Catholic and Lutheran Churches are getting in on the act. With the political and religious world 'open' to the idea of contact with extra-terrestrials, the potential for mass deception on a global scale is increasing. The Bible warns that prior to the return of Christ, God Himself will send people strong delusion that they should believe a lie (2nd Thessalonians 2:11-12). People that have accepted the theory of evolution are now reaching the logical conclusion that there is life in outer space. They assume that these beings would be benevolent in nature, and that contact with extra-terrestrial intelligence will result in the salvation of this planet. They have no idea that these beings have been plotting our downfall for the last 6000 years, and that they are merely awaiting the perfect opportunity to invade. If you are going to fight a spiritual battle, you need spiritual armour. Jesus Christ provided that armour for us when He defeated the devil on Calvary's hill 2000 years ago.

But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.

The devil is that strong man in your life. He keeps you in the bondage of sin. But there is One Who is stronger than he. Only He has the power to bind the strong man and to overcome him. If you are saved then there is no power in heaven or earth that can touch you. If you are not saved, then you are at the strong man's mercy. Turn away from your sin and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation today.

Greek officials say that the object, which was not detected on any radar, was probably a mistaken sighting of the planet Venus in the Autumn night sky. This is not the first time that a passenger jet has had a close encounter with a UFO. Documents released by the Ministry of Defence last year disclosed that an Alitalia flight had a near miss while landing at Heathrow in 1991, with the pilot describing an object "similar to a missile – light brown or fawn – about three metres in length but without any exhaust flame".

There have been several other recent occasions in which unidentified flying objects have been witnessed by both pilots and airport staff. In 2006 a metallic-looking object was spotted hovering over O'Hare International Airport by several pilots and at least a dozen baggage handlers and maintenance crew. The object hung over the United Airlines terminal for several minutes before suddenly accelerating vertically at great speed. A similar incident occurred in the east of England on the 9th of April 1984, when a brightly lit object observed by air traffic control was seen to actually touch down on a runway before taking off again in a near vertical climb at terrific speed. There have been many similar incidents reported over the past 60 years, yet despite all of this, what these objects actually are still remains much of a mystery. UFO sightings go as far back as Christopher Columbus, who witnessed a "glimmering light" in the sky that followed his ship has he journeyed toward the new world in 1492. And in 329 BC, Alexander the Great saw great "silver shields" that emitted fire around their rims and repeatedly dived at his army, frightening the war elephants and preventing him from making a river crossing in India until the next day. Some UFO experts now discount the idea that these objects are extra-terrestrial in origin, and instead believe they could come from another dimension within the locality of Earth. Even if interstellar travel was physically possible, and there is little evidence to suggest it is, why would highly intelligent beings bother to travel billions of light years across the galaxy to some remote planet, only to perform ridiculous manoeuvres such as buzzing aircraft and frightening people before mysteriously disappearing into thin air?

Looking at the phenomenon from a Biblical point of view, it becomes clear as to what these UFOs actually are and why they are here. Following Lucifer's sin, the devil and his angels were cast out of God's presence (Luke 10:18). The Bible states that these fallen beings presently reside in the first and second heavens, also known as the atmosphere and outer space (Ephesians 2:2). The interaction of angels with the human race is recorded for us throughout the Scriptures, yet it seems to be limited to three main roles. Conveying messages (Daniel 9:22, Luke 1:19, Acts 10:22), executing judgements (Genesis 19, 2nd Chronicles 32:21, 2nd Samuel 24:16) and preserving believers (Daniel 6:22, Acts 12:7, Hebrews 1:14). There is no tangible interaction between the angelic host and any governmental authority or body. Even demonic interaction with the human race seems to be Divinely restricted to a certain extent. Some of these 'extra-terrestrials' are able to convey messages to certain individuals (compare 1st Kings 22:21-23). These messages usually take the form of New Age teaching, that mankind must 'evolve to the next level of enlightenment' in order to escape a coming time of trouble, and that only when we become one will they be able to intervene on our behalf. And even then they only seem to appear to people who have previously opened themselves up to occult experiences or other related phenomenon. That seems to be all they are permitted to do at this point in time. This may be why despite thousands of years of UFO sightings, no official government contact has ever been made with an extra-terrestrial civilization. But the Bible indicates that a time will come when official contact will be made. During the tribulation period, a war in heaven will erupt between God's angels and those that follow Satan (Revelation 12:7-12). The demonic host will be defeated, thrown out of the atmosphere and outer space, and cast down to Earth in anticipation of the last battle. A voice in heaven pronounces the jubilant news for those that dwell in heaven (angels and believers), and a solemn warning for those that remain on Earth.

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Following the war in space, a one world government is set up which will be headed by the Antichrist and empowered by Satan himself (Revelation 13). What kind of deception is staged to bring all this about is not specified, but judging by the messages now being propagated by these 'extra-terrestrials', it is entirely possible that some form of mass UFO apparition may occur. The sudden appearance of thousands of UFOs in our skies could be given as an explanation for the apparent disappearance of millions of Christians in the rapture (2nd Thessalonians 2:11-12). It would also have a tremendous unifying effect on the governments of Earth, as world leaders search for a representative who can speak of behalf of everyone. Is this coming end time deception part of the reason for the recent disclosure by several Western governments of information relating to the UFO phenomenon? Is this coming end time deception part of the reason for the recent acknowledgement by the Vatican and Lutheran Church of the possibility of extra-terrestrial life existing in our universe? Only time will tell. I think there is no doubt interest will continue to rise in the UFO phenomenon and sightings like this will continue to increase until the tribulation period begins. The Bible warns us that the time of Christ's coming cannot be predicted in advance. That's why it is important to be ready for His coming now. Jesus Christ is coming back, first to take all those who have trusted in Him for salvation to be with Him in the Father's House (John 14:3), and then to bring judgement upon this rebellious planet. Only those who have had their sins forgiven will escape the judgement to come (Luke 21:36). Heed the warning. "Flee from the wrath to come", Matthew 3:7. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved (Acts 16:31).
