Two Jewish bloggers who had written extensively about Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ) on their website have been targeted by anti-missionaries from the Yad L'Achim organization. On their website, entitled Blog HaBesorah (the Blog of the Gospel), the pair listed Old Testament verses which prove the claims of Yeshua to be Israel's long awaited Messiah. One of the individuals, known only as "Fighting Princess" on her weblog, was tracked down by the anti-missionaries to her home in Beersheba. The organization promptly sent three anti-missionaries to her home. An eight hour interrogation followed, after which she was forced to accept that what she had previously written on the site was not true, and that the New Testament was full of lies. After a discussion with her boyfriend the following day, who was also supposedly having doubts about the Divinity of Yeshua, the pair published a retraction on their weblog apologizing for deceiving their readers. Quote: ""Dear readers, "For a good number of months, I believed wholeheartedly in Jesus as god. But about a week ago, I started to have doubts and to search for the truth, the historical facts, and the veracity of the New Testament... I reached the conclusion that the entire New Testament is simply full of lies that were made up by human beings... for political reasons... The gospels are not reliable! Various parts were continually added to them, and they were then organized anew... mainly by the Romans who defined the New Testament according to their needs. This is the conclusion I reached - and now I am sure of it as well. The sign is that yesterday the Fighting Princess received a visit from Yad L'Achim. They came to her home, explained and proved to her time after time after time why the New Testament and Jesus' divinity are not true and are full of lies. I apologize to you, dear readers, but most of what you read here on this blog was simply lies. Judaism is the only right way. Proofs of this will come soon, from the Fighting Princess." I find this whole ordeal particularly heartbreaking. For Jewish believers in Yeshua living in Israel face extreme persecution from Orthodox Jews. And with Jewish leaders coming to your house interrogating you for eight hours, and not leaving until 1AM the next morning, who wouldn't feel under pressure to renounce what they had previously held as the truth? Especially if your family was threatened with continued harassment if you refuse to comply. A number of years ago a man sent a booklet to my church, which claimed that the New Testament was corrupt and that Jesus Christ was not the true Messiah. The main evidence for this cited in the booklet was the so-called "Da Vinci code", the conspiracy theory now widely known to be based upon a fraud. The booklet had a Star of David on the cover, giving a semblance of religion, and only gave a email address for contacting the author. The man also refused to give his real name, preferring to be known only as A. Teacher. We deducted that he lived in Newtownards by the postage mark on the envelope. I emailed him a number of times, refuting the claims made in his document, and trying to prove the veracity of the New Testament. I seemed to be getting nowhere, so I challenged him to prove to me from the Old Testament that Jesus Christ was not the Messiah, and if He couldn't prove it, I would prove that He was the Messiah. I never heard back from him. It has been said that the proof of the Divinity of Yeshua in the Old Testament is so sound, it would stand up in any court. Let's look at some of those proofs. Daniel 9:26 states that the Messiah had to be born before the destruction of the Second Temple. He must also have been born after the proclamation to rebuild Jerusalem following the captivity in Babylon. Micah 5:2 states that the Messiah would be born King in Bethlehem, and that His goings forth have been from everlasting. If the Messiah was born at any time within the last 1900 years, he would be a Palestinian Arab and not a Son of David. Isaiah 7:14 and Jeremiah 31:22 state that the Messiah would be born to a woman, a virgin, and His name would be called Immanuel - God with us. Isaiah 9:6 tells us that not only would this Messiah be born of a virgin, but that He would be a Son given by God. Isaiah also says that the titles given to this Son include "the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father". Isaiah 9:1-2 state that the Messiah would live in the Galilee. Isaiah 61:1-2 proclaims the message the Messiah would bring, the year of jubilee release for those that are held captive by sin. Isaiah 35:5-6 tell us some of the miracles that the Messiah would perform, opening the eyes of the blind and the ears of the deaf, and causing the dumb to speak and the lame to walk. Zechariah 9:9 predicted his entry into Jerusalem on the donkey, while Zechariah 11:13 predicts his betrayal by Judas, the price that Christ was sold for and Judas' subsequent suicide. Psalm 22 and Isaiah 53 describe in great detail the Messiah's crucifixion and atonement for sin, while Zechariah 12:10 predicts a coming day when the nation of Israel will recognize their Messiah by the nail wounds in His hands. I could go on and on... I firmly believe that if we all we had was the Old Testament, we would still know that Jesus Christ is the Messiah of Israel and the Son of God. The following paragraph in this Arutz 7 article greatly encouraged me, to know that there are more young Jewish people living in Israel who believe in Yeshua. How can we withhold the Gospel from these dear Jewish people, and how can we not pray for our fellow believers who are facing such unrelenting persecution from the modern day Pharisees? Quote: "Arutz-7 also spoke with Rabbi Meir Cohen, who led the drive to locate the bloggers' identities and also took part in the fateful meeting. Asked if it is true, as the blog and the talkbacks indicate, that there is an entire community of young Hebrew-speaking Jews who claim to believe in Jesus, Rabbi Cohen said, "It most certainly is! I personally know dozens of them, and I know that there are hundreds of them... We have already made contact with some of their blogging friends, and I have an appointment to meet one of them in the next few days." Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Source Arutz 7 |

This link from my friend Jim. Rami Ayyad, the director of The Teacher's Bookshop, the only Christian bookshop in the Gaza Strip, was stabbed and shot during the weekend. His body was discovered in the early hours of this morning. The previous day he had had told his family that he had been followed by an unmarked car. Ayyad was abducted by an Islamic group as he closed up shop on Saturday. His family received two phone calls stating that he had been taken by a group of people and would return home later that night, but he never did. Quote: "At 6:25 this morning, news was received that Rami's body had been found at a location near the Teachers' Bookshop in Gaza were he had spent most of his time running the bookshop. Signs of bullets and knife stabs could be clearly seen on his body. Rami 26, leaves behind two young children, and a pregnant wife. The funeral is expected to take place at 16:00 today. No group or party has claimed responsibility. Reuters reports that relations between Christians and Muslims have not deteriorated since the Hamas take-over of the Gaza Strip. But very few Christians actually live in the region, and those that remain face persecution whether it is Hamas or Fatah in power. In June 2006, an Islamic group told the YMCA to close their offices in Gaza or face violence. The Muslim group opposed missionary work being carried out by the YMCA, and said that their city had no need for the facility seeing there were so few Christians living in Gaza. The building was firebombed several times by Palestinian terrorists, most recently by those associated with Hamas and Islamic Jihad. The attacks followed sermons in dozens of mosques in Friday prayers, inciting Muslims to revolt against the Christian organization. John 16:2-3 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. Source Palestinian Bible Society, Reuters |

A minister who has organized a tour of northern Israel for a group of Christians has come under fire from anti-missionaries who are opposed to Christians evangelising Jewish people. Richard Booker, Founder and Director of the Institute for Hebraic-Christian Studies, will take Christians on a tour of an IDF base where they will have lunch with the soldiers, after which they will proceed to a Children's Centre to distribute gifts of clothing and help them build their sukkah for the upcoming holiday. But Jerusalem City Council member Mina Fenton has opposed the group's visit to the IDF base, believing the tour is a cover for missionary activity. Earlier in the year a group of Christians had toured an IDF base, waving Israeli flags and playing musical instruments. The IDF soldiers joined in the singing, and the Christians started preaching the gospel to them. They were promptly escorted off the base. But it is the prophetic beliefs of Richard Booker that has upset the anti-missionaries the most... Quote: "Teachings by their leader, however, show a distinct dissonance between the love he shows the Jews and the fate he foresees for them. Booker has written about what he calls "The Jews' Final Holocaust," predicting what has been known as a "convert-or-die" scenario. At the end of days, he writes, "hundreds of thousands of Jews will have come to accept Jesus as their Messiah. This will come about through the preaching ministry of 144,000 Jewish evangelists whom God will call especially for the purpose of preaching the gospel during the tribulation period... The Antichrist will march his troops into Israel and for a short period of time will occupy Jerusalem. Every nation will support his retaliation against Israel for their disturbing world peace. The Antichrist will kill two-thirds of all the Jews. This could mean that up to ten million Jews will be killed..." (quoted from his book, Blow the Trumpet in Zion.) Sad to say there are well known Christians that oppose efforts to preach the Gospel to the Jews. This teaching is alien to Scripture. Sometimes I wonder what the Apostles would have made of men like John Hagee, whom I am told is against preaching the Gospel to the Jews, because of his organization's close affiliation with Israel. Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. The Arutz 7 article mentions one Christian, a Pastor by the name of Kenneth Rawson, who is not only opposed to telling the Jews about their Messiah, but is actually working against those who are involved in this work! Quote: "The most significant contribution we have made in the Christian world on behalf of the Jewish people is promoting the Dual Covenant concept. If Christians can be convinced that God is still in covenant relation with the Jewish people there is no need for missionaries targeting Jews. In the last decade two major Protestant denominations embraced the Dual Covenant concept. Additionally, assimilation and missionaries must be countered by deepening Jewish roots. Evangelicals are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in the United States, Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Republics, South America and Israel to target Jewish people for conversion. Various language versions of my video, ISRAEL: APPOINTMENT WITH DESTINY are being shown in Jewish schools, community centers, camps and distributed by Jewish leaders to their Jewish community to deepen Jewish roots. There is no such thing as a Dual Covenant concept, this is nothing other than a lie from Satan designed for the purpose of damning precious souls to hell. There is a dual relationship, for the natural olive branches of Judaism were broken off, and the wild branches of the Gentiles were grafted into God's olive tree. And these natural branches will be regrafted into the olive tree, when the Jewish nation recognizes Yeshua as Messiah at the end of the tribulation period (Romans 11). But there is no such thing as a Dual Covenant. The Bible states that both Jew and Gentile are now one spiritually in the Messiah (Ephesians 2:14-15). The Old covenant, which could not justify the sinner before God, was fulfilled in Christ. Hebrews 8:6-10 But now hath he (Christ) obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. For this [is] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: The fault God found in His covenant with Israel (the Mosaic covenant) was not in the law, for the law is perfect and shows us God's impecable standard of righteousness. But the fault with the old covenant is that it was based on man's ability to attain to God's righteousness, which is impossible for all have sinned and come short of God's glory (Romans 3:23). But as a result of Christ's sacrifice on the cross, the Lord was able to establish a better covenant with mankind, based on better promises. For the promises of the new covenant are no longer based on the righteousness of man, but upon the righteousness of Christ. It is no longer the "if thou shalt" of the old covenant (Deuteronomy 7:11-13), but the "I will" of the new (Hebrews 8:10). The writer to the Hebrews warned Jews that following the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the Jewish sacrificial system offered no more efficacy for sins (Hebrews 10:26-29). Praise God that there are Christian organizations that are fulfilling the great commission, preaching the Gospel to both Jew and Gentile (Luke 24:47, Acts 1:8). Source Arutz 7, Israel's Destiny |

Christians living in Pakistan have received threatening letters from Islamic groups, calling on them to abandon Christianity and embrace Islam or be killed. The unsigned letters threatened Christian communities in Peshawar with suicide bombings if they would not become Muslims by a certain date. Quote: ""Through this open letter you are openly invited to convert to Islam and quit Christianity, the religion of infidels," the letter said. Readers could "ensure your place in heaven" by adopting Islam. "We will wipe out your slum on next Friday, August, 10th, 2007. And you, yourself would be responsible for the destruction of your men and material. Get ready! This is not a mere threat, our suicide bombers are ready to wipe out your name and signs from the face of earth. Consider it be the Knock of Death," it said. The date passed without incident, but Christians are still living in fear of attacks. It is thought the letters were a response to US Presidential candidate Tom Tancredo's comments that he would bomb Mecca and Medina in retaliation to a terrorist attack on the United States. The government of Pakistan has been engaged in a battle with Islamic terror since it was discovered that Muslims involved in the September 11th terrorist attacks were being trained in Pakistani camps. President Pervez Musharraf shut down many Islamic madrassas, where clerics would encourage their followers to take up jihad against the West. Last month Muslims took control of Pakistan's Red Mosque, resulting in a long siege during which many people were killed. Unfortunately the United Kingdom may not be far behind Pakistan in falling to Islamic terrorism, for terrorist organizations like Hamas seem able to operate here with relative impunity. Quote: "The Centre's report explains why Hamas uses Great Britain to publish and disseminate its ideas, noting that it stems from a combination of reasons: "The British government's policy of enabling Hamas, and extremist Islamic elements in general, relatively free rein in its publications; the presence of a support base of Arab/Moslem supporters in Britain; and the technical abilities to produce high-standard publications and disseminate them internationally." I think this country needs to get back to calling a spade a spade. The British government and the mainstream media have catered to Islamic terrorism for too long. Now I'm not bigoted against Muslims, I believe if we need to preach Jesus Christ to anyone, it's the Muslims. But I think that we need to start looking at things from a Biblical point of view. All murder is wrong, whether it is carried out by a Muslim militant, an Iraqi insurgent, a Chechen separatist, a Palestinian freedom fighter, a dissident Republican, or a Loyalist not signed up to the peace process. Unfortunately the mainstream media leads us to believe people have a right to murder others if they live in a certain country or adhere to a certain ideology. We have so many names for sin. Why should it matter who they are or what they believe? For God will make no distinction in the judgement. Micah 4:3 And he (Christ) shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
